We were galloping towards week 4 of rehearsals when the lockdown happened.

The piece was taking shape with all scenes covered and a week was left to shape, hone and craft our vision of this complex yet vital play.

We may not have managed the live performances but what a delight to capture as much of it as we possibly could using online software and the resilience of these young performers.

So much thematically which is unearthed within the text of this play haunts us all now.

Mike Bartlett is so way ahead of his time that one realises that it’s the artist which can reveal and heal if we let them.

I hope we support these young actors as much as we possibly can moving forward. They will have to adapt like the rest of us and dreams and aspirations may need to shift, at least for a little while.
