A cast of well-known professional actors will join a community team and the Festival choir to present an otherworldly show on the Pavilion stage.
The story tells the story of the astronaut Lleuwen Jones who has realised a lifelong dream of being the first girl on the moon.
Having returned back to earth she is an icon in the world of astronomy while her husband, Gwyn, is raising their children, Seren and Rhys, on earth, in the Ystrad Fflur area, where he was born and raised.
The script was written by the novelist and singer Fflur Dafydd, who hails from Llandysul and is a familiar face on the stage of the Eisteddfod receiving the main prizes of the Festival. (The Prose Medal in 2006 and the Daniel Owen Memorial Award in 2009)
Fflur collaborated on the production with Griff Lynch, a member of the band Yr Odds, and Lewys Wyn, Yr Eira.
Lloergan is in the Pavilion on Friday evening, 29 July at 19:30. Tickets available on the Eisteddfod website – https://eisteddfod.wales/2022-pavilion-evening. The concert is sponsored by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and the original project is a partnership with the Royal Astronomical Society and Urdd Gobaith Cymru.
